![]() ![]() ![]() Power delivery has changed in the last 6 years and Nvidia knows about it, they actually enforce it in their Geforce line for nearly a decade now, going above advertised clocks, to push performance as high as possible. This was posted in the Nintendo pipeline discord I've mentioned before, it's from Digital Foundry's article about boost mode on Switch, 's estimate on clocks for Drake, I wanted to bring up the idea that in portable mode, they might actually use a higher clock and dynamically change it, much like Switch does now, or closer to PS5's GPU clock's dynamics. Something interesting to discuss, apparently PS5 software sales are down in a few cases due to the availability of backward compatibility. Expecting a very, very strong software line-up at launch (specifically mentions 3D Mario).Believes that new info will come up during Tokyo Game Show as Nintendo will brief other partners about the new console.Would be extremely surprised if Nintendo goes past 2023 without acknowledging the existence of new hardware.Mentions that he fully expects his report to break the floodgates on articles that report on Nintendo's next-gen console.Expects the console to be released in late 2024, seems adamant on a 2024 launch (i.e not slipping into 2025).Specifically mentions that Nintendo keeps stuff like this extremely close to its chest it's difficult to make conclusions now.Andy mentions that he's heard mixed things about backwards compatibility on Nintendo's new console, but nothing concrete enough to make a piece.They believe that the new console will launch at a higher price than the launch price of the Switch. ![]() ![]() Has heard from a few devs that the console will launch with an LCD screen to reduce costs. ![]()
